Light exposure: It prefers partial shade but can tolerate full sun.

Water requirements: The Root spine palm has average water requirements.

Drought toleration: It is highly drought tolerant.

Cold toleration: It has low cold tolerance.

Flowers:  The palm produces beautiful 2 feet long inflorescences that come in pedunculur bracts. The flowers are creamy white; male and female flowers are on the same plant.

Fruits: The fruits are ovoid, creamy white.

Propagation: It is propagated by seeds.
